The Working Mommy

Well as you all know by default that I work full time outside of the home. I work for a company based in Portland Or in the customer service dept. I take calls and set up service and orders for supplies. But this isn't the career I saw myself in as a teen fresh out of high school. As soon as I graduated in June of 2005 I enrolled into Culinary School. I wanted to be a chef and someday open my own bakery/cafe. I graduated on the deans list with a 4.2 GPA. I worked as a chef in a catering kitchen making and plating meals for thousands everyday. I also worked at a bistro in Portland. This was great I loved it but didn't last long because of a car accident and standing for long periods of time caused my leg to blow up like a balloon. I then floated job to job. I worked as an internet sales assistant, Reception at a bank, Call centers several, at a Goodwill and Ross as cashiers/ Supervisor. In March of 08 I started as a dispatcher and was laid of in October, called back at the end of December and then laid off again in June 09. Then I got a chef job I was so excited. 3 weeks after starting I found out I was PREGNANT with our daughter. 2 days later I was laid off.. When she was 4 months old I finally landed a job as a Guest service agent for a local hotel chain, I loved it some days I wish I was still there. But after a year of back and forth, graveyard next days swing next day AM. I couldn't handle it anymore. I got my job from the same place that laid me of twice before back. A couple weeks later found out I was PREGNANT again with our son. Here I am working same company almost a year later and I have two beautiful children. Tell me about your story.
